The Ashbrook

Following on from the success of Leabrook Place and The Glenbrook, the first two stages of our newest development, the multi-award winning 'The Ashbrook', have now been completed.

Located on Syme Street, off Anzac Highway, The Ashbrook offers quality, security and privacy in stylish apartment style living for senior retirees. Like our other properties, it is a neighbourhood of like-minded people, where residents can celebrate life as they want to live it.

The Ashbrook is being built over several stages and offers a range of two and three bedoroom apartment plans and sizes built to the same high standard currently experienced by residents at Leabrook Place and The Glenbrook.

It's this commitment to quality, attention to detail and project management that won the State Master Builder's Association award for 'Excellence in Retirement Living' and National 'Lifestyle Housing for Seniors Multi Unit Development'.

The Ashbrook offers a range of apartment designs including choices of 2 or 3 bedrooms, study, built-in robes, ensuite, bathroom plus separate toilet. Attention to detail, quality fittings and appliances are clearly evident and give good value for money.

Located off the main lounge dining area, each apartment has it's own "Summer Room" for outdoor living and entertaining. Imagine quietly reading the paper and enjoying some fresh air as you listen to the sounds of the neighbourhood waking. Or perhaps you would rather have the grandkids over for a family meal. With a self draining deck floor, your treasured pot plants can be part of your move to The Ashbrook too.

The Community Areas - Your Extended Living Areas

Whilst your apartment is your own private space, The Ashbrook's community areas are for shared use and essentially extend your living space. There are many areas to socialise with friends, take some time out with a good book or soak up the views and fresh air.

There is always plenty to do if you'd like to - Tai Chi, indoor bowls, Wii, exercise classes, painting and crafts to name a few. So often in retirement facilities, men are the forgotten few, but not at The Ashbrook. We currently have a very active men's club.

Resident's Library
Located near the front entrance, the library is a great place to meet visiting friends or wait for a taxi. Relax by the fire with the daily newspaper or enjoy a good book or two. There is never any shortage of books to read, many of the books in our libraries being too precious to give away and are therefore donated by incoming residents for all to share.

Meeting and Drawing Rooms
Used for activities and Resident?s Committee meetings they can also be booked for functions.

Roof-top Areas

Clubrooms
The dining and lounge area are multi function and really come to life with the many functions and activities held there. Spacious yet still intimate and private, family and friends are welcome to join you for a meal at "Cedars Restaurant" and the little ones are accommodated too with our kids menu.

Sports Bar
Enjoy a game of billiards on the full size table, a game of cards or perhaps watch the latest sports on the large screen TVs. The Sports Bar is run on an honour system and Happy Hours are well attended or perhaps enjoy a pre-dinner drink with your guests.

Conservatory and Sky Garden
A place full of light and space, a place to dine or relax, a place set high above the city and suburbs that is quiet and secure. The Conservatory is very popular, particularly in spring and autumn and a stroll out to the Sky Garden gives fresh air and views to Glenelg and the Hills with spectacular sunsets.

Home Theatre
Regular movie afternoons and evenings are held in the home theatre which is equipped with plush, comfy arm chairs, projector and large screen. The current theatre will convert to a boardroom when a new theatre is created in a subsequent stage of The Ashbrook.

As a brief summary of Omega FamilyCare Apartments:

  • The purchase of your apartment is similar to, but in many ways unlike a real estate transaction
  • The premium paid for your apartment grants you a life time licence to occupy
  • Property Service fees:
    • vary by apartment and the fees include 24hour professional team member on site, council and water rates, levies, building insurance, administration, maintenance of community areas including lighting, air-conditioning, furnishing, gardening, pest control, lift and buildings.
    • Exceptions - Contents insurance, apartment interior and summer room maintenance, electricity, telephone, internet and Foxtel
  • Resale - if your apartment needs to be re-sold in the first three months, you get your money back less weekly rental. After three months occupancy, in common with other high quality facilities across Australia, a retention fee is payable and is dependant upon length of stay.
