What is FamilyCare?

FamilyCare is exclusive to Omega FamilyCare Apartments and is a unique concept that is designed to put you, our customer, in control. It is what distinguishes us from other retirement or seniors accommodation villages.
Every service we provide is optional, so you can have us do as much, or as little, as you want. There are no timetables, inflexible packages or structured approach.
Our professional team of FamilyCare Assistants are multi-skilled and their primary concern is residents. In delivering services to you, FamilyCare Assistants respect you as an individual, unconditionally, for who you are.
In addition to the security and privacy of FamilyCare at our properties, you have the companionship of living with other like-minded people. You retain your independence by having assistance with difficult tasks, and you unburden your family from routine responsibilities so they can spend quality time with you.
Your family has peace of mind knowing you are safe and secure. You have someone always looking out for you and help is always there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when needed.

Housekeeping Services
Virtually any home service is available simply by requesting it. What's more, you will be secure in the knowledge that every member of our team has to first meet our very strict criteria. This ensures both quality of service and security.
Here are just a selection of the services that you can request:
- housekeeping
- regular apartment cleaning
- spring cleaning
- laundry
- apartment repairs and maintenance
- handyman jobs.
Personal Assistance
Even though you may never find it necessary to utilise the personal assistance services that are available, you can feel secure in the knowledge that a trained team member is always available. The choice and level of service is always yours. How much or how little support you receive is up to you.
Each of our Omega FamilyCare Apartments is licensed under the Supported Residential Facilities Act and has a FamilyCare team member is on the premises 24 hours a day, every day of the year. And, when you live in one of our apartments, you'll be given the option of having a Personal Service Plan prepared to meet your individual needs. In this plan you determine the level and type of assistance you would like on a regular basis or of course you can call on practically any service at any time.
If you choose, your plan can be reviewed quarterly, or even more frequently; it's up to you. We can meet with you personally and can liaise with your medical practitioner, specialist or family if you wish.
Each apartment is fitted with help buttons that can be used at any time. If you prefer, you can have the added security of a personal pendant that can be worn as you move around your home or in the garden.
At Omega FamilyCare Apartments, you can be sure that each of our FamilyCare team members has been selected because of their commitment to and empathy for older people and their families. To be sure that our level of service is maintained, frequent training is undertaken and you'll be asked periodically to evaluate the services that we provide.
Fine Food
Delicious meals are prepared daily by our chefs who take into consideration any special dietary needs that you may have. Menus are updated regularly and reflect the preferences of residents. Our restaurants are licensed offering a range of soft drinks, wine and beers or of course you may bring your own if you prefer. Our food services are designed for flexibility - whether you to choose to dine regularly or infrequently, in the dining room or your apartment - the choice is yours. Family and friends are welcome too.
Special functions are held regularly and are well attended. Theme dinners, such as Christmas in July, special occassions including Christmas and Melbourne Cup or private functions are all catered for by our chefs.
Anything You Want
Aside from housekeeping, personal assistance services and fine food, we can also assist you with just about any other service that you may require.
This can include pet care or a chaperone service to help you with the shopping or as a companion for attending appointments and social events. Again, this is entirely your choice and your privacy is always respected.
We also have a list of reputable and professional external service providers who can assist you in a number of areas. All of our service providers are very closely screened and over the years have established a good reputation with our residents and team. They also meet our requirements for high customer satisfaction and customer first philosophy.
A small sample of their services include:
- carpet cleaning
- car washing
- curtain dry cleaning
- painting
- electrical.
Any additional assistance you may require can be arranged. No matter how small or large your request may be, we are happy to be of service.
Community Care
It is also important to note that a range of government funded programs may also be available to you once you have become a resident.
For example, one such program is the 'Metro Home Link' which is an intervention program designed to keep you out of hospital during minor acute illness. This program provides free, short-term care for up to six days in your apartment. Our FamilyCare team has been approved to provide the necessary services, and once a referral has been obtained from your medical practitioner, your needs can be discussed.
